Stream Deck on Fedora and Bazzite
One installer for Workstation, and the right route for the image-based spins.
Checked against StreamController 1.5.0-beta.16 on 24 October 2026.
Fedora Workstation and KDE
Download stream-deck.zip (4.0 MB), then:
$ unzip stream-deck.zip
$ cd stream-deck
$ ./install.shThe script uses dnf for system packages, sets up a Python environment in the folder, adds the Stream Deck udev rule and an app-menu entry.
Silverblue, Kinoite and Bazzite
Image-based Fedora keeps the system read-only, so the installer can't add packages. On these, install StreamController's Flatpak instead; Flathub is already set up:
$ flatpak install flathub com.core447.StreamControllerPage switching on Fedora KDE
KDE Plasma needs kdotool for StreamController to see the focused window. Check whether your repositories carry it; if not, it builds from source with Rust's cargo. On Fedora Workstation (GNOME), accept the GNOME Shell extension when prompted instead.
Installing by hand
If you'd rather not run the script, the project lists these build dependencies for Fedora:
$ sudo dnf install -y gcc gcc-c++ kernel-headers python3-devel gobject-introspection-devel glib2-devel cairo-devel cairo-gobject-devel dbus-devel libffi-devel libjpeg-turbo-devel zlib-devel libtiff-devel freetype-devel lcms2-devel libwebp-devel openjpeg2-devel libunwind-devel lz4-devel bzip2-devel elfutils-debuginfod-client-devel portaudio-develThen follow the manual steps.
Questions
Does the installer work on Fedora Workstation?
Yes. install.sh uses dnf to install the packages StreamController needs, then sets up the app in its own folder.
Does StreamController work on Bazzite or Silverblue?
Yes, but not through the installer, because the base system on image-based Fedora is read-only and dnf can't add packages. Use the Flatpak there: flatpak install flathub com.core447.StreamController.
Plug it in and start mapping keys.
StreamController is free. Download the zip, run one script, and plug your deck in.
