Stream Deck on Arch and Manjaro
One zip and one script. The AUR works too, with a couple of extra packages.
Checked against StreamController 1.5.0-beta.16 on 24 October 2026.
Install
Download stream-deck.zip (4.0 MB). Arch doesn't ship unzip by default, so:
$ sudo pacman -S --needed unzip
$ unzip stream-deck.zip
$ cd stream-deck
$ ./install.shThe script uses pacman for the GTK, libadwaita and portal packages, sets up a Python environment in the folder, and adds the udev rule and an app-menu entry.
Community packages
There are AUR packages maintained by the community. They work, but bug reports to the project should come from the official release so the developers can reproduce them.
$ yay -Ss streamcontrollerPortal packages
If you set things up by hand, the project lists these system packages:
$ sudo pacman -S xdg-desktop-portal xdg-desktop-portal-gtk libportal libportal-gtk4Tiling window managers
Hyprland and Sway both support automatic page switching. On i3 and other X11 window managers, it works through X11.
Questions
Is StreamController in the AUR?
Yes, community-maintained packages exist. Search with yay -Ss streamcontroller. They're unofficial; the download on this site is the release the developers published.
Which portal packages do I need on Arch?
If you run from source or an AUR build, install xdg-desktop-portal xdg-desktop-portal-gtk libportal libportal-gtk4. install.sh installs them for you.
Does it work on Hyprland?
Yes, including automatic page switching. There's also a Hyprland workspaces plugin in the store.
Plug it in and start mapping keys.
StreamController is free. Download the zip, run one script, and plug your deck in.
